Hosting
Hosting is the simple term for where your web site is ‘stored’ and run from. For your site to exist and be accessible to everyone, it needs to be on a web server, a computer that is always connected to the internet, making it available to anyone in the world at all times. Hosting is just who or what machine is going to be doing that for your site.
It’s a vital part of any project and we will help you to decide, right from the start, which is the most suitable host for your site. Factors such as expected web traffic, security, platform and budget are all points to consider at this stage.
Shared Hosting
We own several dedicated web Servers from where we host a number of our existing clients’ websites. Browsers on the internet want to be able to access your site – not be faced with a Server Error, Page Unavailable notice.
We can provide you with peace of mind by taking on the responsibility of regular updating and maintenance, fixing any problems, often before you’re aware of them, and keeping your site running to maximise your exposure at all times.
Dedicated hosting
For larger businesses, we recommend you buy or lease your own web Server from us, known as a dedicated hosting arrangement. We will provide Internet access for a monthly or yearly fee.
We also offer a server management package. We have a broad knowledge of the capabilities of a number of data centres and this awareness enables us to guide you towards the one most suited to your own needs.
Backups
We run nightly full backups that store the data on a remote FTP account. Weekly backups are taken offline and stored in our office. For a small monthly charge, we can offer a weekly/monthly/quarterly backup be burnt on to CD and sent to you.
Domain names
Your domain name is important and we can either configure existing names or buy new ones for you. We can host your email and website, or just your website – whatever you choose we can help get everything up and running, minimising stress over posible lost emails or website downtime.
Email hosting
We have a number of shared hosting packages, offering email with up to a 1GB mailbox, webmail access and a number of other features including virus checking and spam filtering.
